The development of projection solutions for static or dynamic images is one of our core areas. Digitally controlled  lighting distributions lead to new lighting functions or extended customer benefits in many applications, for example in automotive lighting with high-resolution headlights or in projectors for displaying logos or communication content.

Optical Design of Static Logo Projectors


Very small projectors are used in automotive lighting as door entry lights or mirror lights that project logos or other images. We are developing optical and mechanical designs for this application, including the selection of suitable, automotive-certified LEDs. The challenge in the design of the projection optics is to achieve very good imaging properties with low color aberration and high image contrast, while module size and costs under control.

Automotive Projectors with Digital Imagers


For projecting around the car, static images are desired as well as dynamically changing images and patterns, such as light carpets, messages or small video sequences. Depending on the installation location in the vehicle, we develop optical systems for projectors with digital imagers such as DLP® technology from Texas Instruments or LCOS imagers.

Digital Luminaires for General Lighting


Luminaires for special lighting applications such as museums, theaters or for advertising applications also require light distributions that can be digitally controlled. One of the light fixtures that we developed uses a DLP® imager from Texas Instruments.
