Projection Systems for Logistics
Industrial-grade projection systems manufactured by TQ Engineering transform conventional workstations and assembly stations into intuitive, visually guided work environments.
Using projectors specifically developed for these applications, information such as picking data, positions, quantities, or work instructions can be projected directly onto containers, shelving, work surfaces, or products. This makes information visible exactly where it is needed – for example, during order picking in logistics or in complex assembly processes.
Employees no longer need to constantly shift their attention between the work area and additional displays. This improves both process efficiency and operational reliability.
The key advantage of projection systems is their ability to present information in a highly intuitive and flexible way. A wide range of shapes, symbols, and even animated images can be displayed, making information quick to understand and visually unambiguous.
Projection systems also offer a high degree of flexibility when layouts change. If products or workflows change, the system can generally be adapted through software modifications without requiring hardware changes.
Application areas
- Order picking in warehousing and logistics
- Production supply and material provision
- Employee management systems
- Assembly sites
- Dynamic marking of changing work areas
- Visualization of storage and refilling processes

The following example describes a projection system developed by TQ Engineering GmbH for illuminating individual container compartments during order picking. It also provides a closer look at the LED technology used.

Projection system for container compartment illumination
The image on the left shows a projection module from TQ Engineering GmbH, specifically designed for illuminating container compartments in order picking stations. The product consists exclusively of industrial-grade hardware components to meet the logistics industry's requirements for reliability, low maintenance, and longevity. At the heart of the projection system is a pixelated LED light source comprised of several thousand individually controllable LEDs, which serves as the image transmitter for the module. The pixelated LED is projected by a lens designed according to the application's requirements (image size, aspect ratio, projection distance).

On the left are two examples of images projected onto the bottom of a transport container. The choice of displayed content (number of illuminated compartments, shapes, or images) is flexible. Different image sizes can be achieved by modifying the projection optics.
